in the last few decades where most of the rural villages do have proper communication wither by cell- phone (mobile our guides will be in touch with the head office through their cell phone. Sometimes Cell-Phone do works and don'ts as Nepal is a hilly and mountainous country with a deep gorge and valley, where cell phone works on high hills, and might not when in a deep gorge hidden by hills and mountains. The chances of a working cell phone are most positive you can try using a local popular SiM card.
There are most of the guesthouses on the complete Everest Base Camp trek, providing Wi-fi facilities at a small cost. However, don’t forget the cellular network in the mountain is poor, and it doesn’t work very properly it keeps disconnecting every minute.
Nearly all lodges on trekking do have small hydro or solar electricity, as for other accessories plugs to fit into re-charge your camera and cell phones, which allows you at extra cost to charge the batteries and your electronic device.
Accommodation is basic at a higher altitude. You will be staying at a teahouse or it calls a guest house that offers food and accommodation for all the trekkers. A typical room has two beds on either side, with a small table in the middle. Beds are equipped with a mattress, pillow, and blanket; however, you may use your sleeping bag in addition to the blanket when it gets cold. The dining room in a teahouse is usually a warm temperate with fire. Hot showers are available throughout the trek. Our package includes and private, free hot shower in Namche.
Mountain eco treks provide water purification tablet which is safe for a drink. Bottled water is easily available during the whole trip, on these treks, we try to avoid plastic mineral waters due to waste and un eco-friendly, people can buy bottled water only in special and desperate situations. You may need to use water purification tablets, Additionally, mineral water gets very expensive above Namche Bazar, rising to five times the original price due to high transportation costs.
There is no age limit; you can do this if you are not suffering from any disease Of course, it will be challenging for young children under 10 and people over 70 years old but if you are in good shape and have strength and endurance training, cardio workout, and hiking in your local mountains before the trek then surely you will do it complete Everest Base Camp trek.

Regarding the difficulty, the only challenging factor is the altitude. It is not always the trails that make it hard to walk, rather it is the altitude and less oxygen level that make the trek hard. Mountain eco treks design altitude risk free trek itinerary. You need to be ability to walk 5– 6 hours uphill and downhill every day.
A fair physical fitness with 1 hour to 90 min daily morning jog prior to 1 month of the hike, the Everest base camp trek is suitable for passionate trekkers,Positive attitude, excellent health, and strong determination are required for a successful finish
Only very small fixed-wing propeller planes and helicopters are permitted to land in Lukla. Planes carry 16 to 18 passengers and helicopters carry only 5 people.
Our Everest Base Camp Trekking package is the most appropriate package. The Trekker walks 5 to 6hrs every day during the trek. The distance will be 10 to 12 km every day.
Most items served at teahouses are freshly prepared and healthy.
For breakfast, they serve oats, Tibetan bread, chappati, bread, hash browns, and eggs in different styles. You will also have a choice of tea or coffee.
For lunch and dinner, there are plenty of dishes available, like fried noodles, traditional dal-bhat (typical Nepali food) Sherpa stew, steamed or fried Mo: Mo (dumplings with vegetable or meat filling), pasta, pizza, paratha, burgers, and more. Contact us, at info@mountianecotreks.com to obtain a proper packing checklist for the Complete Everest Base Camp trek.
You will be able to get laundry services in Namche. You won’t get this service in other parts of the Everest base camp trek. If you are really necessary to do laundry your cloth you will have to personally wash and tend. We recommend you bring an extra set of clothing as per necessity.
We recommend retaining basic physical and mental fitness to climb the Everest Base Camp trek. Complete Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek; you would walk through the uphill and downhill trail covering highland living Sherpa Villages as well as rocky path. It does not demand any technical skills. Even trekkers without any experience can do the trek with proper training and preparation.
Of course challenging factor of the complete Everest base camp trek is the altitude but we mountain eco treks designed for a risk-free Altitude sickness trek itinerary.
You can store it at your hotel (most hotels in Kathmandu have storage facilities without any charge)
in the last few decades where most of the rural villages do have proper communication wither by cell- phone (mobile our guides will be in touch with the head office through their cell phone.
We highly recommended to you that it is better to carry a thermos with boiled and filtered water.
On treks, If the illness is mild a trekker can continue onward provided, they have rested and are feeling better. if you become seriously ill our guide will contact the head office for immediate medical evacuation by other means of transport with helicopter service for quick recovery. For quick and immediate evacuation one should obtain a medical insurance policy to cover all medical, travel, and Heli evacuation when required in such situations. For AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) getting the victims downhill safer elevation and putting the patient on Gamma / Pressure Bags, we do carry Oxygen for the normal emergency purpose for severe cases heading Down-Down and Down or immediate evacuation in Helicopter to Kathmandu.
For sure we run several small group-joining treks with fixed departure dates, which travelers are able to join with another group on your suitable date.
Travel insurance is an important comprehensive package for a complete Everest base camp trek. Travel insurance is essential for incidental expenses during travel. It reduces financial risks and protects travelers from certain losses. Travel insurance covers necessary medical expenses and emergency air rescue during the trip. We strongly recommend travel insurance for your protection.
If the flight is delayed or canceled, the alternative option is to board the next day's flight. It is almost certain that there will be no flight to Lukla in the afternoon due to weather changes. As you may know, the weather in Lukla is very unpredictable, only can fly to Lukla when the weather is clear and favorable. Another option is to go by helicopter to Lukla if the flight is canceled, but it is very expensive at above USD 500 depending on the sharing.
Our itinerary is very flexible when you contact us to plan your trip we will make the best arrangement according to your wishes. By choosing a time that is suitable for you, you can ensure your personal journey
The route to Everest Base Camp is usually very crowded during the high season (spring and autumn) September to Nov and March to May. Due to the extreme climate and temperature, the number of visitors is less during winter and monsoon. But there will be no problem for tourists to eat and stay even though it is very crowded.
You should bring all the trekking equipment you need yourself. Trekkers can bring equipment from their hometown, but their costs can be high, so buying them from local shops in Thamel Kathmandu is the right decision. We Took the EBC trek with Ram in June and it was amazing. He was very helpful and responsive when you are planing your trip and everyone knows that the guide on a trip like this can make or break your trek. For our trek we had a guide named Ram and he was amazing. We went during monsoon season so flights were hard to come by but Ram made sure that we got there by dealing with the airlines and the helicopter companies. He monitored us the whole way to make sure the altitude wasn't to much for us and any problem we had he fixed right away. We observed many different guides along the was and we wouldn't trade ram for anything. The views were amazing and Ram could answer any questions we had. I highly recommend Mountain Eco Treks and Expedition for all treks in Nepal and if you do use them ask for RAM!

Ram and Neil led our group of 6 to Everest Base Camp and back safely and we had the time of our lives! Their knowledge of the area and ability to change plans as we needed made our trip smooth, fascinating and down right one of the best treks we have ever done. The guys were fun and joined in the laughs and were able to fix any issues swiftly along the way, including our lost luggage and cancelled flights!
I couldn't recommend this company more highly. You will be in good hands, I will be back for sure!

My wife and I had the pleasure to have Ram guide us up the mountain last summer. We did a 12 day trek. We really didn't have to do much besides hike. Ram arranged the flights, got us to and from the airports in Kathmandu and Lukla, arranged all of the overnight stays, all meals, and had a porter to carry our duffel bags. He made the whole experience as easy as possible for us. We met other couples trekking without guides and they were all exhausted and most of them had bats of food poisoning. Each meal we had Ram would tell us what is safe to eat and what would make us sick so we never had to worry about it. He also introduced us to delicious ra-ra noodles and buffalo momos! He also showed us around Kathmandu for a couple days. I am sure we would not have had nearly as good of a trip if it was not for Ram. Hopefully we can get back to Nepal in the next few years so we can have Ram guide us to Annapurna Base Camp!

We had a great time in Nepal and amazing experience!! All the prep and communications were with Dev who is extremely knowledgeable, polite and has lot of patience to answer questions (and I trust me I had a lot of them!). We trekked the Everest Base Camp with Mr. Ram as a guide (Dev’s partner). He was very experienced, knew everyone along the way, he could probably do the trek with his eyes closed and we felt safe and welcome in the places we stayed on this trek. When I got sick, both him and our porter (Sushan) took good care of me.
In addition, after the trek, we visited both Dev’s and Mr. Ram’s families, had homemade Nepalis traditional food – it was delicious! Both kept in touch after the trek till this day.
If you want a no hassle, enjoyable, safe, and hospitable experience you cannot go past Dev and his team!! They are the best; I would highly recommend exploring Nepal and trekking with them. They can find a trek suitable for your needs. Amazing! Thanks for everything, Guys!!

My trip to Nepal and the trek to Everest base camp were pretty spontaneous. I got invited to join while I was Indonesia. Not an offer I could say no to. Unfortunately the group I was invited to join ended up not really being my preferred cup of tea. There was a bit of drama. But, thanks to Our guide Dev and his nephew Probin, I was able to focus on how rad they were and how amazing the trek was. By the time we reached base camp and prepared to head back down, Dev and I were the only two left in the group. The others had to head down early due to the affects of altitude. Just a matter of luck really. That was when I really discovered the meaning of “jam jam”. We jam jammed from EBC to Lukla In just a few days! We probably could have placed in the EBC marathon that’s was taking place at the time. We wanted to get down to the others as soon as possible. Dev was a great guide and used solid judgement when it came to pushing limits. He has been trekking the Himalayas since a young kid. He’s very savvy to the whole environment and the tole it can take on an individual. When it comes to locals, and whether or not they actually care about you, he’s one of the good ones. If you find yourself in a predicament that you’re not sure how to solve, he’s the man to help you. He can make things happen if needed.
Thank you Dev and Probin! I hope to see you again soon!

Everest Base Camp Trek
27th April, 2018

Professional, fun, amazing!

Great Trek to EBC and Kathmandu Tour!!!
1st March, 2018

Great Experience - Everest Base Camp
12th March, 2022

EBC trek
10th May, 2018
My trip to Nepal and the trek to Everest base camp were pretty spontaneous.
