Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek Overview

Trip Highlight

  • Helicopter Flights (Kathmandu-Lukla & Gorakshep Return): The Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek begins with a helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, offering sweeping views of Everest, Cho Oyu, and the Khumbu region. At the end of your journey, enjoy a scenic helicopter return directly from Gorakshep to Kathmandu-a fast and comfortable way to complete your Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Nepalexperience.
  • Premium Lodge Stays: During the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek, stay in carefully selected mountain lodges offering warm rooms, hot showers (where available), private bathrooms in select locations, and quality meals. This ensures comfort and rest throughout your high-altitude trekking journey in the Everest region.
  • Kala Patthar Sunrise (5,545 m): A highlight of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek itinerary is the sunrise view from Kala Patthar. Witness Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse glowing in golden Himalayan light-the most iconic viewpoint of the entire Everest region trek.
  • Sherpa Culture Along the Trail: Experience authentic Sherpa culture during your Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek Nepal. Visit traditional villages, explore ancient monasteries, and learn about Himalayan life from local guides in the Khumbu region.
  • Sagarmatha National Park Route: Trek through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to Mount Everest and surrounding Himalayan peaks. This protected landscape offers glaciers, alpine valleys, and dramatic mountain scenery throughout your journey.

Not every trek stays with you forever. The Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek does. Also known as the Everest Base Camp Trek With Helicopter Return, this is an 11-day journey that takes you all the way to the foot of Mount Everest (8,849 m)-the highest mountain on Earth - through one of the most breathtaking landscapes you will ever walk through. Expertly operated by Mountain Eco Treks, this premium package was designed for people who want the real Himalayan adventure, the kind that gets into your bones, without ever having to sacrifice a good night's sleep or a hot meal.

Your adventure starts before you even lace up your boots. A helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla lifts you above the valley and delivers you straight into the Everest region-no early morning drives, no stress, just mountains filling every window. From Lukla, you follow the rhythm of the trail along the Dudh Koshi River, past warm Sherpa villages, centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, and pine forests alive with mountain air. The path through Phakding, Namche BazaarTengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche unfolds one beautiful day at a time.

Rest days at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)-the beloved Sherpa trading capital -and Dingboche (4,410 m) are honestly some of the best days of the whole trip. You slow down, explore, take photos, and let the altitude work its magic. The optional hike up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche Bazaar-a signature highlight of the Everest View Trek-gives you your first real look at Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam side by side-and that view alone will stop you in your tracks.

Then comes the moment you have been walking toward. Standing at Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), listening to the Khumbu Icefall crack and groan beside you, with giants of rock and ice surrounding you on every side - words genuinely fall short. Unlike the Everest Base Camp Short Trek, this luxury route gives you the full, unhurried experience - every acclimatisation day, every dramatic viewpoint, every milestone earned at its own pace. And if you thought that was something, the pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) the next morning, watching the first light of sunrise paint Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and Lhotse gold - that is a moment you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

At the end of every long, rewarding day on the trail, you come back to something wonderful. The luxury lodges and premium teahouses of the Khumbu region offer heated private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and gourmet Himalayan meals that taste even better after a full day of walking. And when the trek is over, a helicopter returns from Gorakshep to Kathmandu, carrying you home over the Khumbu Glacier - one final, breathtaking goodbye to the mountains.

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are hands down the best times to do this trek - clear skies, perfect temperatures, and the most spectacular views across Sagarmatha National Park.

All Sagarmatha National Park permits, licensed Sherpa guides, and complete logistics are fully included. Available in Standard and Premium categories to suit every traveler.

Note: This itinerary is also available in Standard category options, which are more budget-friendly than the luxury package. For complete details, please refer to the Cost Includes & Excludes section below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Think of it as the classic Everest Base Camp Trek-but with a serious upgrade. Instead of basic teahouses, you stay in proper luxury lodges with comfortable beds, hot showers, and great food. You'll have experienced Sherpa guides by your side, and many packages even include helicopter flights so you spend less time on bumpy mountain roads and more time actually enjoying the Himalayas.

It's challenging, there's no sugarcoating that. But "difficult" doesn't mean impossible for beginners. If you're reasonably fit, take the acclimatization days seriously, and don't rush, most people are genuinely surprised by what they can achieve. You don't need any climbing experience - just a good attitude and decent hiking legs.

Yes, and many do every year. The biggest thing that keeps beginners safe isn't fitness-it's patience. Go slow, drink plenty of water, listen to your guide, and don't push through warning signs. A licensed guide makes an enormous difference, especially when it comes to spotting early symptoms of altitude sickness.

Most people complete the trek in 11 to 13 days. The extra days aren't filler - they're built-in acclimatization stops, mostly in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, where your body adjusts to the thinning air. Skipping these days to save time is one of the most common mistakes trekkers make.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the sweet spots. The skies are clearer, the trails are drier, and you're far less likely to get caught in a snowstorm. That said, both seasons are popular, so the trail can get busy - especially in April and October.

Prices generally range from USD 3,900 to USD 5,500 per person. The big variables are group size, the standard of lodges, and whether helicopter flights are included. It sounds like a lot, but when you factor in guides, permits, accommodation, and all meals for two weeks in one of the world's most remote places, it's actually quite reasonable.

For most people who've done it - absolutely yes. The difference between a standard trek and a luxury one isn't just comfort, it's the quality of your entire experience. Better sleep means better performance on the trail. Good food keeps your energy up. And having a knowledgeable guide who genuinely cares about your wellbeing changes everything.

The highest point you'll reach is Kala Patthar at 5,545 m (18,192 ft) - and the view from up there is something most people struggle to put into words. Everest Base Camp itself sits slightly lower, but Kala Patthar is where you get that jaw-dropping, wide-open panorama of Everest and the surrounding peaks that you'll see on every postcard.

On most days, you're looking at around 4 to 6 hours of walking. Some days are shorter and easier, others are a bit more demanding - particularly as you gain altitude. The pace is deliberately slow, which might feel frustrating early on, but your body will thank you later in the trek.

It's more common than people expect. Almost everyone experiences at least mild symptoms above 3,000 m - headaches, fatigue, or disrupted sleep are all very normal. The key is not to push through them and pretend everything's fine. Proper acclimatization, good hydration, and a slow pace are your best defenses, not willpower.

Very much so. Solo travelers - including solo women - trek this route all the time without issues. The trail is well-established, and the Sherpa communities along the way are incredibly warm and welcoming. That said, going with a licensed guide rather than trekking completely alone is always the smarter and safer choice.

You really do, and this isn't one to skip. Emergency helicopter evacuations in the Khumbu region are incredibly expensive - we're talking thousands of dollars. Make sure your policy specifically covers high-altitude trekking above 5,000 m and helicopter rescue. Read the fine print before you book.

You'll be staying in some genuinely lovely mountain lodges - think warm dining rooms, proper beds with real bedding, private bathrooms at lower elevations, and hot showers after a long day on the trail. It's a world away from the basic dormitory-style teahouses on the standard route.

Yes, private rooms are standard on the luxury trek, particularly at lower elevations. Higher up, options can be more limited, but your trekking company will typically lock in the best available rooms in advance so you're not left scrambling.

Most packages cover all three meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus are surprisingly varied, with Nepali staples like dal bhat alongside Tibetan, Indian, and Western options. After a long day of trekking, sitting down to a proper hot meal in a cozy lodge dining room feels genuinely wonderful.

Yes, and more easily than you might think. Vegetarian food is actually the norm in many lodges along the route, and vegan and gluten-free options are increasingly available too. It's worth mentioning your dietary needs when booking so your team can plan ahead.

Wi-Fi is available at most lodges along the route, though don't expect anything fast or reliable at higher elevations. It's fine for sending a message home or posting the occasional photo, but streaming or video calls above Namche are probably wishful thinking.

Yes, most luxury lodges have charging facilities. Some may charge a small fee, especially higher up where electricity is generated by solar panels or micro-hydro systems. Carrying a power bank as backup is always a good idea - you don't want to miss that summit shot because your camera died.

You'll need two permits: the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit. The good news is that a reputable trekking company will sort all of this out for you — you just need to make sure it's included in your package.

Yes, but it's straightforward. Most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. Just bring passport photos and some US dollars or equivalent for the visa fee, and you'll be through in no time.

It depends on the package, but many luxury treks do include helicopter services - either flying you into Lukla at the start or whisking you back from Gorakshep at the end. The return helicopter flight in particular is a popular choice, as it cuts out the long walk back and gives you one final breathtaking aerial view of the Himalayas.

It happens more often than airlines would like to admit - Lukla's mountain weather is famously unpredictable. If your fixed-wing flight is cancelled, a helicopter transfer is the best alternative. It's faster, more flexible, and honestly a spectacular way to arrive in the Khumbu valley anyway.

The essentials: solid waterproof trekking boots (broken in before you leave home), a good down jacket, thermal base layers, waterproof outer layers, gloves, UV-protective sunglasses, strong sunscreen, and a light daypack for the trail. You don't need to overpack - your porters will carry the heavy bags, but you'll still want the right gear for the conditions.

Absolutely. Kathmandu's Thamel district is packed with trekking shops where you can rent or buy pretty much everything you need - down jackets, sleeping bags, trekking poles, gaiters, you name it. The quality varies, so shop around and check gear carefully before renting.

Funnily enough, the view of Everest from Base Camp itself is partially blocked by the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding ridges. The real money shot is from Kala Patthar, about an hour's hike above. From up there, on a clear morning, the view of Everest rising above the clouds is the kind of thing you remember for the rest of your life.

Complete Cost Breakdown of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Understanding the cost of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the first things trekkers look for before booking. The luxury package typically ranges from USD 3,999 to USD 4,600 per person, depending on group size, duration, and the level of services included. Special group discounts are available for families, friends, and private groups. This covers five-star hotel stays in Kathmandu, premium lodge accommodation along the trail, all meals, licensed English-speaking guides, porters, permits, helicopter transfers, and comprehensive medical support. Unlike budget packages, the luxury option ensures that every detail is taken care of for you from arrival to departure, giving you a stress-free and deeply rewarding Himalayan experience. Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary-Day by Day Guide

A well-planned itinerary is at the heart of every successful Himalayan trek. The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is carefully designed to balance adventure, acclimatization, and comfort over 11 to 12 days. The journey begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, where you stay at a top-tier hotel and enjoy a full cultural sightseeing day. A scenic helicopter flight then takes you to Lukla, marking the start of your trail through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and finally Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. Each night is spent in the finest lodges available along the route, with gourmet meals and personalized guide support. The return journey includes a thrilling helicopter flight back to Kathmandu from Gorak Shep, saving you several days of walking. For those who prefer a shorter adventure, our Everest View Trek is a perfect introduction to the Khumbu region with breathtaking views and a comfortable pace.

Accommodation Standards on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

One of the biggest differences between the standard and luxury trek is the quality of accommodation. On the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, you will stay in the finest lodges the Himalayan region has to offer, including well-known properties such as Yeti Mountain Home, Rivendell Lodge, and Dingboche Resort. These premium lodges feature private or semi-private rooms, comfortable beds with warm duvets and electric blankets, en-suite or attached bathrooms with hot running water, heated dining areas, and Wi-Fi connectivity. In Kathmandu, you will enjoy the luxury of the Aloft Hotel. As you ascend to higher altitudes, facilities naturally become more basic, but every accommodation selected is the best available at that elevation, so you always rest well and wake up refreshed for the next day.

Why the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Is Worth Choosing Over the Standard Trek

Many trekkers wonder whether the extra investment in a luxury package is truly justified. The standard Everest Base Camp Trek is a remarkable experience, but it involves basic teahouse accommodation, shared bathrooms, limited meal choices, and long return walks. The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek transforms this journey into a seamless, comfortable, and deeply personal adventure. You sleep better, eat better, and recover faster, which directly improves your ability to acclimatize and enjoy every step of the trail. You also benefit from private guide services, pre-booked premium lodges, and a helicopter return that saves days of backtracking. Whether you are a first-time trekker or a seasoned traveler who values comfort, the luxury option delivers an experience you will talk about for the rest of your life.

Best Seasons to Plan Your Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Choosing the right time of year is essential for a safe and enjoyable trek. The two best seasons for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek are spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November. During spring, the trails come alive with blooming rhododendrons, the skies are clear, and temperatures are mild, making it the most popular season. Autumn offers some of the clearest mountain visibility of the year, with crisp air and stunning panoramic views of Everest and the surrounding peaks. It is recommended to book well in advance during these peak seasons, as premium lodges fill up quickly. Winter trekking from December to February is possible, but comes with extreme cold and possible trail closures at higher elevations. The monsoon season from June to August brings heavy rainfall and leeches on the lower trails, which is generally not recommended for the luxury experience.

Altitude Sickness Prevention and Acclimatization on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Altitude sickness is one of the most important topics for any trekker heading above 3,000 meters. On the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, proper acclimatization days are built into the itinerary to give your body the time it needs to adjust to the decreasing oxygen levels. Key acclimatization stops are scheduled at Namche Bazaar at 3,440 meters and Dingboche at 4,410 meters, where you will hike high and sleep low to help your body adapt gradually. Expert guides carry pulse oximeters to monitor your blood oxygen levels daily and are trained in wilderness first aid. Staying well-hydrated, avoiding alcohol, and following your guide's advice are the most effective ways to prevent acute mountain sickness.

Helicopter Return Option on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

One of the most exciting features of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is the helicopter return from Gorak Shep to Kathmandu. After reaching Everest Base Camp and conquering Kala Patthar for the iconic sunrise view, instead of retracing the long trail back to Lukla, you board a helicopter that takes you back to Kathmandu in under an hour. This aerial journey offers breathtaking bird's-eye views of the Khumbu Icefall, glacial valleys, Sherpa villages, and soaring Himalayan peaks that simply cannot be seen from the trail. The helicopter return also saves three to four days of trekking, making the luxury option ideal for busy travelers with limited time. All helicopter bookings are coordinated in advance, ensuring a smooth and reliable departure. You can also book this as a standalone service through our Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return package.

Difficulty Level of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek- What to Expect

The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is rated as moderate to challenging, but the luxury package is specifically designed to make the journey as manageable and enjoyable as possible. You will trek for approximately four to seven hours per day on well-marked trails through forests, suspension bridges, rocky moraines, and high-altitude landscapes. The biggest physical challenge is not the terrain but the altitude, as you will be trekking above 3,500 meters for most of the route, where oxygen levels are significantly lower than at sea level. Your pace is carefully managed by your private guide, who adjusts the daily schedule based on your fitness and how well you are acclimatizing. Porters carry your main luggage, so you only need to carry a small daypack. With the right preparation and a positive mindset, most reasonably fit people can complete this trek.

Complete Permit Guide for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Trekking in the Everest region requires two mandatory permits, which are handled on your behalf as part of the luxury package. The first is the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, which currently costs approximately USD 22 for non-SAARC nationals. The second is the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entry Permit, which costs around USD 20. Both permits are essential and will be checked at multiple points along the trail. Having all permits correctly organized before entering the park ensures a smooth and uninterrupted trekking experience, allowing you to focus entirely on enjoying the journey ahead.

Meals and Food Experience During the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Food is a genuine highlight of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek. Unlike standard teahouse trekking, where meal options can be limited and repetitive, the luxury package includes gourmet dining experiences at premium lodges, where skilled chefs prepare fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals using both local Nepali ingredients and international cuisine. Breakfast options include eggs prepared multiple ways, porridge, pancakes, and fresh bread. Lunches and dinners feature a wide variety of dishes, including pasta, pizza, dal bhat, soups, and seasonal vegetables. All meals are carefully planned to provide the high-energy nutrition your body needs at altitude. Fresh fruits are also provided daily to keep your vitamins and energy levels up. Staying well-nourished is one of the key advantages of the luxury trek, as it directly supports better acclimatization and a more enjoyable overall experience.

Lukla Flights-Everything You Need to Know Before Your Luxury EBC Trek

Lukla Airport, officially known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport, is the famous gateway to the Everest region and is widely regarded as one of the most thrilling airports in the world. On the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, you fly directly from Kathmandu to Lukla by helicopter, bypassing the sometimes unreliable and crowded domestic fixed-wing flights. This helicopter transfer takes approximately 1 hour and provides stunning aerial views of the Himalayan foothills right from the start of your adventure. It also removes the uncertainty of flight delays and cancellations that are common at Lukla, especially during peak seasons and in unpredictable mountain weather. Flying by helicopter is more reliable, more comfortable, and far more scenic, setting the perfect tone for the luxury experience that follows on the trail.

Essential Packing List for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Packing smart is one of the most important parts of preparing for your trek. On the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, porters carry your main duffel bag, so you only need a comfortable daypack for the trail. A detailed and personalized packing list is provided to every client before departure, along with advice on where to rent or purchase any missing gear in Kathmandu at affordable prices.

Category Essential Items
Clothing Warm base layers, thermal underwear, a down jacket, waterproof trekking pants, and a jacket
Footwear Sturdy ankle-support trekking boots, warm trekking socks, and camp sandals
Head and Hands Warm gloves, fleece hat, buff or neck warmer, UV-protection sunglasses

Electronics Camera or smartphone, portable power bank, universal adapter

Physical Training and Fitness Preparation for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Although the luxury package makes the Everest Base Camp Trek as comfortable as possible, a good level of physical fitness is still essential for an enjoyable experience. It is recommended to begin your training program at least eight to twelve weeks before departure. Your training should focus on cardiovascular endurance through activities such as hiking, running, and cycling at least four to five times per week. Strength training for your legs, core, and back muscles will help you handle the uneven and sometimes steep terrain on the trail. If possible, practice hiking with a small daypack on hilly terrain to simulate trail conditions. Yoga and breathing exercises are also beneficial for preparing your lungs for the reduced oxygen levels at altitude. The fitter you are before you arrive, the more you will enjoy every moment of the trek.

Safety Standards and Emergency Support on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Safety is the absolute top priority on every luxury trek we operate at Mountain Eco Treks. Our team of highly experienced and certified guides is trained in wilderness first aid, altitude sickness recognition, and emergency evacuation procedures. Every group carries a comprehensive medical kit including pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, supplementary oxygen, and all essential medications. We maintain direct communication with helicopter rescue services and the Himalayan Rescue Association medical posts throughout the trek. In the event of a medical emergency, a helicopter evacuation can be arranged within hours. We strongly recommend that all clients carry comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation. Your safety and well-being are always our first concern, and you are never alone on the mountain with Mountain Eco Treks.

Luxury Lodges and Hotels Along the Everest Base Camp Trek Route

The quality of your accommodation makes a significant difference to how well you rest, recover, and enjoy the overall trekking experience. Along the trail, you will be accommodated at renowned lodges, including Yeti Mountain Home in Namche Bazaar and Phakding, Revendel Hotel in Deboche, and Dingboche Resort in Dingboche, among others. These properties offer private rooms with comfortable beds, warm duvets, attached bathrooms where available, hot showers, heated dining rooms, and reliable Wi-Fi. In Kathmandu, you will stay at premium five-star properties that offer world-class facilities and service. All lodges are pre-booked well in advance to guarantee availability, especially during the busy spring and autumn seasons when premium rooms fill up very quickly.

Travel Insurance Requirements for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Travel insurance is not optional on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek- it is essential and required as a condition of booking. Your policy must specifically cover high-altitude trekking above 5,000 meters and include emergency helicopter evacuation, medical treatment, trip cancellation, and personal belongings protection. Reputable insurance providers that cover Himalayan trekking include World Nomads, Allianz Global Assistance, and IMG Global. The cost of a helicopter evacuation from the Everest region without insurance can exceed USD 5,000 to USD 7,000, making comprehensive coverage a very wise and necessary investment. We recommend purchasing your insurance as early as possible after booking, so that trip cancellation cover applies from the date of purchase.

Porter and Guide Services Included in the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

On the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, you will be accompanied by a dedicated, licensed, and English-speaking senior guide throughout the entire journey. Your guide is not just a pathfinder but a cultural ambassador, altitude safety expert, and personal companion who will enrich your experience at every step. In addition to your guide, you will have a personal porter who carries your main duffel bag, which should weigh no more than fifteen kilograms. This means you walk freely with only a light daypack, conserving your energy for the trail ahead. At Mountain Eco Treks, our guides and porters are local Nepali professionals who are paid fair wages, provided with proper insurance, and given appropriate equipment and accommodation. We are deeply committed to responsible trekking and the ethical treatment of all staff, ensuring that your luxury experience also has a positive impact on the local Sherpa community.

Sherpa Culture and Local Traditions Along the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest region is the homeland of the Sherpa people, one of the most resilient and remarkable communities in the world. Trekking through the Khumbu Valley gives you a rare and authentic opportunity to experience Sherpa culture, traditions, and daily life up close. Along the trail, you will visit ancient Buddhist monasteries, including the famous Tengboche Monastery, see intricately carved mani stones and spinning prayer wheels, and walk beneath colorful prayer flags that flutter in the mountain breeze. Your guide will share stories of the legendary Sherpa climbers, the history of Everest expeditions, and the spiritual significance of the mountains to the local community. You are encouraged to walk clockwise around stupas and mani walls, remove your shoes before entering monasteries, and ask permission before photographing local people. These small acts of respect go a long way in building genuine connections with the communities you pass through.

Drinking Water Guide for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Staying properly hydrated is one of the most critical factors in preventing altitude sickness and maintaining your energy on the trail. It is recommended to drink three to four liters of water per day throughout the trek. Water purification tablets are provided, and all premium lodges along the route offer boiled or filtered drinking water. Carrying a reusable water bottle or hydration bladder is both practical and environmentally responsible. Avoiding alcohol, especially in the first few days of gaining altitude, is also strongly advised as it accelerates dehydration and increases the risk of altitude sickness.

Is the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Worth the Price?

This is perhaps the most important question of all, and the answer is an unequivocal yes. The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is not just a trek — it is a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the foot of the world's highest mountain, experienced in comfort, style, and complete safety. When you factor in the quality of accommodation, the gourmet meals, the private guide, the helicopter transfers, the pre-arranged permits, the medical support, and the peace of mind that comes from traveling with a trusted company, the value becomes very clear. Trekkers who choose the luxury option consistently report that it exceeded their expectations and that the comfort of premium lodges made the altitude challenges far more manageable. Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, with family, or in a group, this is an investment in an experience that will stay with you forever.

Everest Base Camp Trek

27 Apr 2018

We Took the EBC trek with Ram in June and it was amazing. He was very helpful and responsive when you are planing your trip and everyone knows that the guide on a trip like this can make or break your trek. For our trek we had a guide named Ram and he was amazing. We went during monsoon season so flights were hard to come by but Ram made sure that we got there by dealing with the airlines and the helicopter companies. He monitored us the whole way to make sure the altitude wasn't to much for us and any problem we had he fixed right away. We observed many different guides along the was and we wouldn't trade ram for anything. The views were amazing and Ram could answer any questions we had. I highly recommend Mountain Eco Treks and Expedition for all treks in Nepal and if you do use them ask for RAM!

Just go with flow. Trekking together with Ram (Owner of Mountain Eco Treks) you will leave Nepal as a friend. It is not only safe it's furthermore fun, full of joy and an authentic Nepal experience. Hiking side by side along some of the remotest path towards or in Himalaya region can literally bringing you back to peace and it's ceasing of your mind when you enjoying an spectacular view at 4800m or even higher altitude, sharing local Dhal Bat (don't dare to taste the real nepaliversion) incl. an Everest Beer and have some nice conversation about the past and the very present is an experience what I enjoying since more then 5 years now bc. of Ram. His more then 13 years lasting guiding experience will lead you to many more better places even of the beaten tracks due his many connections he has with almost everyone in that area plus he with his company takes care of his country thought sponsoring an orphanage in Kathmandu too.

EBC trek

26 Jun 2017

My trip to Nepal and the trek to Everest base camp were pretty spontaneous. I got invited to join while I was Indonesia. Not an offer I could say no to. Unfortunately the group I was invited to join ended up not really being my preferred cup of tea. There was a bit of drama. But, thanks to Our guide Dev and his nephew Probin, I was able to focus on how rad they were and how amazing the trek was. By the time we reached base camp and prepared to head back down, Dev and I were the only two left in the group. The others had to head down early due to the affects of altitude. Just a matter of luck really. That was when I really discovered the meaning of “jam jam”. We jam jammed from EBC to Lukla In just a few days! We probably could have placed in the EBC marathon that’s was taking place at the time. We wanted to get down to the others as soon as possible. Dev was a great guide and used solid judgement when it came to pushing limits. He has been trekking the Himalayas since a young kid. He’s very savvy to the whole environment and the tole it can take on an individual. When it comes to locals, and whether or not they actually care about you, he’s one of the good ones. If you find yourself in a predicament that you’re not sure how to solve, he’s the man to help you. He can make things happen if needed.

Thank you Dev and Probin! I hope to see you again soon!

Professional, fun, amazing!

1 Oct 2018

Ram and Neil led our group of 6 to Everest Base Camp and back safely and we had the time of our lives! Their knowledge of the area and ability to change plans as we needed made our trip smooth, fascinating and down right one of the best treks we have ever done. The guys were fun and joined in the laughs and were able to fix any issues swiftly along the way, including our lost luggage and cancelled flights!
I couldn't recommend this company more highly. You will be in good hands, I will be back for sure!

Everest Base Camp

27 Jun 2017

Ram was our guide when I went for Everest Base Camp hike last year. He won our hearts right on the first day with his hospitality & good sense of humor. Through the hike he kept us all positivity encouraged. He made it a point to introduce us to some locals who had done Everest summit multiple times and always had good local tales to share during our hike.
My daughter & husband went with him last month & experienced the same hospitality.

Everest Base Camp Trek

13 Jun 2017

Amazing EBC luxury Trek

19 May 2025

We completed the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek in April with Mountain Eco Treks, and it was truly unforgettable. Our guide, Mr. Ram, made every moment exceptional through his expertise, care, and professionalism. The journey was seamless, inspiring, and memorable—thank you, Ram, for an extraordinary adventure!

Ram’s story is deeply inspiring. Starting as a porter at 18, he worked with honesty, determination, and passion to eventually become the owner of Mountain Eco Treks. His dedication and decades of trekking experience are evident in every detail of the journey, making each day seamless and enjoyable.

Throughout the trek, Ram ensured we stayed in the best lodges and guided us on proper meals to stay healthy. None of us fell ill, which made a huge difference. He also organized a perfectly timed helicopter flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu, providing a scenic and smooth conclusion to our adventure.

From start to finish, the organization was flawless. We always felt safe, cared for, and fully supported. If you plan to trek in the Everest region, I highly recommend Mountain Eco Treks. Trekking with Ram is an experience you will never forget—truly exceptional from every perspective.
